Montessori Schoolhouse Children Raise $170 to Purchase Two Acres of Colombian Rainforest

As part of their study of South America, preschool and kindergarten children at the Montessori Schoolhouse of Cheshire County conducted a bake sale and performed chores to raise money for the Colombian rainforest. The children baked all of the goodies themselves and raised a total of $170. They used that money to purchase and preserve two acres of Colombian rainforest. Montessori Schoolhouse is a non-profit school with a volunteer Board of Directors. The school serves children between the ages of 18 months and 6 years, providing developmentally appropriate Montessori-based toddler and pre-school education.
