We have an opening for a Lead Teacher in one of our Primary Classrooms for the next school year.
The role of the Lead Teacher is to direct the children's academic, emotional, social and physical development in a prepared and peaceful Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach his/her full potential during the school year. The Lead Teacher will plan, prepare and deliver appropriate lessons for all children in their care while demonstrating respect for each child.
The Lead Teacher will supervise one or more Associate Teachers and possibly an intern from a local school in classroom/Montessori matters.
The Lead Teacher reports to the Executive Director.
Ideal Qualifications
Three years' experience as a Montessori Teacher or appropriate Montessori Teacher credentials with at least one year of teaching experience
Able to meet the State of New Hampshire Childcare Licensing requirements.
CPR/First Aid certification
Committed to Montessori education
Passionate about working with young children and their families
Strong communication and leadership skills
Commitment to professionalism and continuing education
Able to physically position oneself at children's level - kneel, crouch, sit on floor, lift a minimum of 25 pounds and be outside in different weather.

Responsibilities
Plan, prepare and maintain a safe, clean, inviting and orderly environment. Rotate materials throughout the year to continually meet the cognitive, social/emotional and physical needs of children.
Set clear and consistent expectations for class routines and for the classroom community.
Be a role model to Associate Teachers and set clear and consistent expectations for them.
Provide lessons for individual and small groups of students.
Maintain accurate records for each student.
Build productive relationships with parents through communications via conferences, progress reports, events, daily messages, photos and daily conversations.
Attend events for families and staff held after school hours.
Create an environment that demonstrates respect and kindness for all.
Provide input on classroom performance of Associate Teacher(s).
Collaborate with other Lead Teachers.
Participate in staff meetings.
